What is Global Education and why should I be a global educator?
"It's not what you know, it's what you do with what you know."
At the dawn of the 21st century, as educators, it is critical we prepare our students to thrive in our ever-evolving and interdependent world. We can no longer be content teaching our students content. We must teach them how to think, question, create, engage, collaborate. To truly prepare students for the 21st century, we must encourage our students to embrace and interact with the world around them. Regardless of what we teach, we must change how we educate our students so they are not merely adequately prepared to survive in the world beyond high school graduation, but are well prepared to thrive as global citizens. It is our responsibility as educators to incorporate global education into our curriculum. This website is designed as a global education resource for teachers- use it to learn more about global education, use it to find lesson plan ideas for your own classroom, use it to create a shift towards global education in your school or district, use it to connect with schools or programs around the world. Explore. Create. Teach.
